XPS 8950 aftermarket cpu cooler (Be Quiet! Dark Rock TF2) standoff screws not fitting on mobo

so i bought a be quiet dark rock tf2 to replace the stock air cooler on my xps 8950, but when i tried to screw on the standoff screws it didnt fit in for some reason, does anyone have any specifications for the screw holes for the cooler?

8950 mobo has clear heatsink mounting holes.  the stock cooler is mounted on M3 threaded studs (standoffs) built in chassis mounting tray.  to use third party cooler that does not use M3 screw, you would need to use plier to twist off the studs.  you would need to remove mobo first.  and apply new cooler backplate to back side of mobo in order to mount the new cooler.

this has pic of 8960 case which is the same as 8950 case

In case you had not noticed, a forum post by dstewart51 back in Feb 2022 documented installing a Be Quiet Dark Rock TF2 in a XPS 8950, complete with photos (link below):

https://www.dell.com/community/en/conversations/xps-desktops/xps-8950-aftermarket-cpu-cooler-be-quiet-tf2-fits/647f9ab6f4ccf8a8dee6ecf3

The author states that no modifications to the chassis or mobo were needed. He just had to (1) request the LGA1700 bracket from Be Quiet, which was sent free of charge and (2) pickup some M3x20 cap screws to drop down the Be Quiet stand offs and brackets to the chassis mounted screw bosses.

Also note that a significant difference in fan speeds between the original and aftermarket cooler may trigger a BIOS warning on a XPS 8950.

That is great. Looks like it works. I have some trouble figuring out some details. Is the black standoff (M3) part of the bequiet package mounting hardware?  It is mounted on Dell M3 studs. Then the author used silver steel hex socket  screws to mount the two brackets on the black standoff.  I am not sure what the m3x20 cap screw refer to, but I guess it is the silver hex socket screw.
