KB740 Keyboard - Alt Shift & Control Keys working intermittently

I recently purchase the KB740 wireless keyboard and MS5320W mouse. I'm a graphic designer and I use the Alt Shift and Control keys as constraining keys all day, for example holding shift to select multiple items.

Most of the time, the first time that I press the key it doesn't work and I have to hit it a second time. The rest of the keys seems fine, and the only context that I run into this issue is when I'm using those keys in conjunction with the mouse (IE - shift + click, or control +click)

I using an up to date Windows 10, the keyboards firmware is 3.0.5.5, Dell peripheral manager is version 1.7.2 and it lists driver version as 1.2.0.30. Tried the keyboard on other devices without issue. 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
