Dell Optiplex Micro 7010 (MFF) - running two monitors at 2560x1440 (via DP and HDMI)

Hi

I've got a 2023 Optiplex Micro 7010. Currently using the DP and HDMI ports to connect to a Dell U2719D (DP port) and Dell U2715H (HDMI). Sadly I can't seem to get the HDMI monitor working at 2560x1440. Max resolution it seems to offer is 2048x1152. Not really sure why as the monitor does support 2560x1440. Does running dual monitors at this resolution require displayport on both monitors? If so i could add an optional displayport port to the system (does anyone have the part number for this?).

Any advice appreciated. thanks

Adam.

The GPU (Intel HD4000, most likely) will do 2560X1600 over displayport, but is limited to FHD (1920X1200) over HDMI.

2048X1152 isn't a standard resolution, but it's probably the best you can do with this system -- you won't get it to 2560X1440 over HDMI.

CPU is an i5-13500T with Intel 770 gpu. Maybe i could daisy chain the monitors via DP? Don't know. Or add a 2nd DP adaptor card into the option slot on the chassis. Does anyone have a part number for that?

thanks.

Sorry - I was assuming this was a 10-year old model (Dell recycled the model number for the current generation).

The GPU you have will easily support 2 QHD displays -- you may want to check with Dell support to see what they say.

@ejn63 i think your comment may still apply to this model actually. According to the user manual only 1920 res is supported on the HDMI port. (see the display section on the user manual -  https://dl.dell.com/content/manual17424428-optiplex-micro-7010-owner-s-manual.pdf?language=en-us). So I am now wondering about adding a 2nd displayport module or daisy chaining my monitors (however i am guessing the latter probably isn't possible.. hoping someone can advise on that. We shall see.

So, I've done a bit more digging and it seems this is the correct part to get an additional DP port. It's actually USB-C but it can provide displayport over this.

I guess i just need a USB-C->DP cable and I should be ok. Just a shame it's so expensive. In other countries the price is around 40% less!

If anyone could confirm my thoughts it would be appreciated..

thanks.
